The best buys to lose weight in 2016
Date Posted:21 December 2015

Are you one of the 90% of Australians who will set a new year's resolution to lose weight in 2016? Well being here at themanshake.com.au is a great start. But if you are looking to invest more money into your health there are some clever products to purchase.
So maybe you got a rubbish gift at Christmas that you want to exchange for something useful or you are just keen to take advantage of the Boxing Day sales, if so here are my top 5 products to purchase if you want to lose weight and get healthy in 2016!
-
Running shoes – whether you can run or just plod along everyone needs a great pair of running shoes to help motivate you to hit the ground running in the new year. If you want to add a bounce to your step in 2016 then A pair of cushioned colourful joggers will do the trick and may even help you step out a few more steps. It’s recommended to do approx. 10,000 steps a day so this is a great way to get you started.
-
Fitness tracker – no better way to count out those 10,000 steps and track your progress then with a good fitness-tracking device. They are so advanced now they track everything from steps to how well you sleep to the number of calories you eat. Which is important as research has shown that people who are overweight underestimate the number of calories they eat by up to 40%.
-
Cooking Appliance – no not the old toaster or vacuum! My favourite cooking device is the George Forman griller as its really easy to use and sucks all the bad fats out of the food for you. One of the best ways to lose weight is to cook your own food and if your no Jamie Oliver in the kitchen then the George Forman is for you!
-
Wii Fit – No need to be a couch potato in 2016. Start moving at home playing your favourite sports on the TV, rather then just watching them. With so much variety now the Wii fit has something for everyone and it’s also great to get the kids moving and playing as a family. My personal favourite is the tennis (except watch you don’t over swing and pull your shoulder out like I nearly did)
-
Resistance Band – My favourite piece of exercise equipment, the resistance band allows you to work out anywhere and anytime. So no need for a gym membership that you probably wont use anyway, with stats showing that nearly 80% of people who buy a gym membership don’t actually go, so don’t be a statistic in 2016. Not sure how to use a resistance band? Well simply go on line and there’s literally hundreds of great exercises to give you a full body workout without any unnecessary impact on your body.
